Warkari Will Get Insurance Cover By Maharashtra Govt | State Govt to provide insurance cover for warkaris; Help up to ₹5 lakh would be provided; Relief for lakhs of warkaris
MUMBAI : Warkari Will Get Insurance Cover By Maharashtra Govt | Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis have decided to implement the Vitthal Rukmini Warkari Vima Chhatra Yojana for warkaris who are taking part in the Pandharpur’s Ashadhi Wari. Lakhs of warkaris will get insurance cover at government expense. The insurance cover would be applicable for 30 days of the wari.
If a warkari dies during the wari, an amount of ₹5 lakh would be given to his family. If a warkari is permanently disabled due to an accident, he will be given ₹1 lakh. If a warkari suffers a partial disability, he will get ₹50,000 and if a warkari falls sick, he will get ₹35,000. A GR has been issued and the help would be provided by Help and Rehabilitation Department.
Accidents or some unforeseen events do happen during the wari and warkaris are injured or they lose their life. The CM and deputy CM have taken this decision to provide financial help to family members of warkaris.
