VIDEO – KIeron Pollard becomes 3rd batsman to hit 6 sixes in 6 balls in international cricket

NEW DELHI: West Indies star cricketer KIeron Pollard has become the third batsman to hit 6 sixes in 6 balls in international cricket. KIeron Pollard scored the record in the 6th over of West Indies’ successful chase in the first T20I in the three-match series against Sri Lanka at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua on Thursday.

West Indies won the first T20I of the 3-match series by 4 wickets after successfully gunning down 132. West Indies and Sri Lanka are currently playing a 3-match T20 series.

KIeron Pollard joins World Cup-winning former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh as the only other batsman to hit 6 sixes in an over in T20I cricket.

At the international level, it was former South Africa opener Herschelle Gibbs who achieved the feat first in a World Cup 2007 match against the Netherlands.

It was a night of extremes for Akila Dananjaya as he had picked up a hat-trick in the previous over before Kieron Pollard’s 6 sixes in an over.
