Victoria Azarenka defeats Serena Williams, enters US Open Final

Washington: Victoria Azarenka defeats Serena Williams 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 to enter US Open final. Victoria Azarenka took the second set 6-3 against Serena Williams to level the match and made her way back in the semi-final. Serena took the first set 6-1 with absolute ease as Azarenka failed to find her range at all.

Azarenka said, “I knew it wasn’t over until it is all over. We both know that and today it was different.”

“Finding my calm mind is daily work. I had to keep moving, get the energy, no crowds so I had to do it myself. She put me in a hole after first set. It wasn’t easy.”
