Uttar Pradesh: Minor girl drugged, violated by neighbours

Jhansi: A class 11 student was allegedly sexually assaulted by four neighbours in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The victim’s family has alleged that the girl was also made to consume alcohol forcefully. The incident took place in Mauranipur in the Jhansi district. The girl was supposedly found in an unconscious state in an auto after she had gone to give exams.

The 17-year-old victim is an 11th standard student. According to her family, the girl traveled to Mauranipur by bus to give her exams, during which someone gave her to consume a food product which had drugs in it. Later in the afternoon she was found in an auto near Kavya Hotel in Mauranipur. On reaching, her family suspected that she was raped. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and took the victim to the nearest hospital for investigation/check-up.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Kumar said that according to the family’s complaint a case has been registered. The victim is undergoing a health check-up. SSP Kumar said that they are awaiting the medical reports. Main suspects have been arrested and the case is under investigation.
