US Gives 6 Million Dollars’ Help to India to Fight COVID-19

New Delhi : The United States has come forward to help India in the fight against Coronavirus. According to PTI, the US Department has said that it has given approximately US $ 5.9 million as health aid to India to prevent the spread of COVID-19. On Thursday, it has been said that this amount is being used to take care of the affected people in India, disseminate necessary public health messages to the people, detect new cases and strengthen surveillance.

This aid will also be used to strengthen the financing mechanism for emergency preparedness and epidemic response. This US aid is part of the same link in which America has given $ 2.8 billion to India in the last 20 years. This includes more than $ 1.4 billion in health aid.

The State Department and the US Agency for International Development have now paid nearly US $ 50 million in emergency health, humanitarian and economic assistance to India. The US has already provided assistance to multilateral and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who are helping to combat the epidemic worldwide.

In India, the total number of corona patients has now risen to 13430 while 448 people have died so far. In South Asia, the US has given Afghanistan $ 18 million, Bangladesh $ 9.6 million, Bhutan $ 500,000, Nepal $ 1.8 million, Pakistan $ 9.4 million, and Sri Lanka $ 1.3 million to fight against COVID-19.
