US’ Concern Over CAA-NRC, Trump will Talk to PM Modi on ‘Religious Freedom’

The White House said that America respects India’s democratic traditions and institutions very much. Prior to the visit to India, a senior US administration official said that on his visit to India, President Donald Trump will also talk with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of religious freedom, which is very important for the US administration.

The official said that the United States is concerned about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Civil Register (NRC). Trump will raise the issue of CAA and NRC in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with religious freedom during his visit.

According to the US administration, President Donald Trump will tell in a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the world is seeing that India is moving forward in its democratic beliefs. The official says that Donald Trump will also talk about shared democracy, personal and public freedom in conversation with PM Modi.

US President Donald Trump is coming to India on a two-day visit. Their journey will be on 24 and 25 February. During this time Donald Trump will also go to Delhi, Agra and Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
