Two PAC jawans killed in road crash in UP’s Sikandrabad area

UP: Two Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel were killed and two injured in Sikandrabad area when they were run over by a speeding truck here early on Tuesday, police said.

 

Meanwhile, several PAC jawans have also been injured in the accident. They have been taken to the hospitals for treatment.

 

The canter truck hit barricades that were put on the road in view of the movement of farmers towards Delhi’s borders before running over the personnel, officials said.

 

Surendra Nath Tiwari, SP City Bulandshahr told ANI, “Two PAC jawans on duty lost their lives after a truck ran over them in Sikandrabad area of Bulandshahr early morning today. The truck lost control after colliding with another truck. A case has been registered.”

 

The families of the PAC personnel, both from a battalion in Aligarh, have been informed, he added.

 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over incident and has directed senior officials to reach the spot and supervise relief operations. Police are further investigating the incident.
