Three ‘Jumbo’ COVID-19 Hospitals Will Be Setup At Pune

PUNE: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday asked officials to set up three “jumbo” COVID-19 treatment facilities in Pune amid spike in cases. During a visit to review the COVID-19 situation here, Pawar said there were complaints of overcharging against some private hospitals, adding these bills will be examined by independent accountants. He asked district and civic officials to ramp up health infrastructure in and around Pune keeping in mind the August-end scenario.

Ajit Pawar who is also the guardian minister of Pune City had called a meeting today regarding the COVID-19 situation.

In the meeting, Ajit Pawar said, “The state government is doing all efforts to break the chain but also must take care that this should not spread rapidly. Considering the current scenario in Pune city we have to take rapid steps. With preventive measures, we will have to construct more COVID facilities in the city.”

Divisional Commissioner Deepak Mhaiskar who was also present in the meeting made a small presentation and detailed preparations about what so far administration has done in Pune. Collector Naval Kishore Ram made a presentation about what steps and measures Pune Corporation has taken so far. He also explained the minister and present officials about the current situation in Pune rural.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Murlidhar Mohal, Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaiskar, Collector Navalkishor Ram, Pune city Commissioner Dr K Vyankantesham and other top officials from Pune corporation, Health department, and Pune police were present in this meeting.
