Tanushree Dutta files police complaint against Nana Patekar

Actress Tanushree Dutta (34) finally complained to the police against actor Nana Patekar. She complained of sexual harassment by lodging complaint against Nana Patekar and choreographer Ganesh Acharya with Oshiwara police station.

Tanushree complained that during shooting of movie ‘Horn OK Pleassss ‘ in 2008, Nana Patekar had molested her. During the shoot, he came closer to Tanushree and started improperly touching her. When she protested, they treated her harshly.

Tanushree had said that she had refused to shoot an intimate scene for the item song with Nana Patekar which had hurt his ego, she stated in her complaint. After that she had to face backlash from his associates, she added.

Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Manoj Kumar Sharma has confirmed receiving complaint from Tanushree Dutta but said that no FIR in the case has been registered.

Earlier Tanushree had also filed complaint with Cine and TV Artists Association, but there was no action.

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya who shooting the song, has denied her allegations. After being caught in the dispute, he supported Nana and accused Tanushree of being a liar.

Nana Patekar has firmly denied the her allegations. He has sent a legal notice to Dutta to withdraw the allegations and apologise.

Tanushree hails from Jameshdpur, Jharkhand. At present, she is a resident as well as a green card holder of the United States of America.

In 2003, Dutta won the Femina Miss India pageant held in Mumbai; as a result, she represented India at the Miss Universe 2004 Pageant which took place in Quito, Ecuador, where she placed amongst the top 10 finalists. Gal Gadot also participated in this Pageant. Tanushree went on to become the eighth runner up while Gal Gadot couldn’t make it to the top 15.

She made her Bollywood début in 2005, appearing in Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya Aapne.

In 2008, Tanushree accused Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of the movie Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss. In March 2008, she filed a complaint with ‘CINTAA'(Cine & TV Artists Association) but no action was taken then. This allegation was repeated in 2013 in an interview and then again in 2018. In September 2018, CINTAA apologized to Tanushree admitting that the “chief grievance of sexual harassment wasn’t even addressed[in 2008]” but added that since the case was more than three years old, they could not reopen it.
