Crime Branch nabs 3 men for abducting trader for Rs 20 crores ransom money

Three people have been arrested by the Pune police crime branch for allegedly abducting a businessman from the Timber Market and demanding a ransom of Rs 20 crore. The police have rescued him safely. The trader was abducted on Saturday (October 6th) in the evening. According to police, a businessman was abducted from the car on Saturday evening.

This information was received by the police at 6.30 pm. Initially, the criminals were demanding Rs 20 crores but later reduced the amount to Rs 15 lakh. Meanwhile, the police were working to get information about where the criminals took the businessmen.

The crime branch’s DCP Shirish Sarandeshpande, ACP Samir Sheikh and all the crime branch units were trying to find businessman’s whereabouts in Pune city. Around midnight, they found out that the criminals have taken him to Katraj area. Therefore, the crime branch unit spread all over Pune city got assembled in Katraj area.

Police officials said that the accused persons were taking the businessman towards Shivapur when the cops blocked their vehicle and rescued the businessman and arrested three accused who were in the car. Their two accomplices are on the run.
