Two men killed in Nigdi, Vishrantwadi

In two gruesome murders in Nigdi and Vishrantwadi, a youth and and an autorickshaw driver lost their lives.

The Nigdi incident came to light around 8 am on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Tukaram Gurpa Shinde (22) of Milindnagar, Nigdi. His brother Suresh Shinde is injured. Police officials said that they were attacked inside their house with cement blocks. His brother is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to police, the Shinde brothers lived in a rented flat in Milindnagar. After returning from work, they were sleeping inside their house when someone attacked them in the wee hours of Sunday. After getting the information, cops reached the spot and rushed them to hospital where Tukaram was declared brought dead. Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the attack on the two brothers.

Officials from Crime Branch and Nigdi police station are further investigating the case.

Autorickshaw driver killed in Vishrantwadi

Autorickshaw driver Anil Dhotre (37) was killed with sharp edged weapon at Shelar Ghat (fish market) near Vishrantwadi chowk. Around 6.30 am police were informed that a man was lying in a pool of blood. Police reached the spot and rushed him to hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

According to police, Dhotre was addicted to alcohol. On Saturday (October 6th), he sat down to drink with a friend. At about midnight, Dhotre and his friend went to their homes
But Dhotre did not reach the house. Someone killed him on the way. He was attacked with sharp weapons on his head. Senior police inspector Sangita Patil, in-charge of Vishrantwadi police station, is investigating further.
