Sixth Roll Ball World Cup Tournament inaugurated by Chandrakant Patil; India beats Poland in opening match in men’s category (VIDEO)

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  – Roll Ball World Cup Tournament In Pune | The Indian team defeated Poland in the men’s category and made a winning start in the sixth Roll Ball World Cup Tournament on Friday. The tournament, being held at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex at Mahalunge Balewadi was officially inaugurated by Higher and Technical Education Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil. Municipal Commissioner of PMC Vikram Kumar, PCMC Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, PMRDA Chairman Rahul Mahiwal, industrialist Punit Balan, President of Maharashtra Roll Ball Federation Sandeep Khardekar, inventor of Roll Ball Raju Dabhade, President of PMC’s Education Committee and corporator Manjushree Khardekar, Jyoti Kalamkar were present. Chandrakant Patil inaugurated the jersey of the Indian team and wished good luck to all teams. The sport, which was invented in Pune, is being played in more than 50 countries. “I am happy that the sixth Roll Ball World Cup Tournament is being played in Pune. At present, 27 countries are participating in the tournament and in the future, more countries may take part in the event,” said Chandrakant Patil.

 

The Shahu Laxmi Kala Kreeda Academy presented a display of fencing, spears and shields which showcased the cultural heritage of Maharashtra. The artistes of Rambo Circus displayed various skills which added colour to the inauguration event. The police band also presented various songs to boost the morale of the players.

 

 

In the opening match in the men’s category, India beat Poland 14-1 and began their campaign on a winning note. At half time, India had taken 8-0 lead.

 

 

For India, Akash Ganeshwade scored four goals (12.33,13.55, 14.22 and 32.09), Harshal Ghuge 2 (5.10 and 31.0 minutes), Sachin Saini 2 (2.47 and 39.08 minutes), Mihir Sane 1 (6.36 minutes), Shrikant Sahu 1 (17.00 minutes), Vicky Saini 1 (10.24 minutes), Aditya Sutar 1(24.20 minutes), Guruvachan Singh 1 (26.56 minutes) and Pradip T 1 (36.43 minutes). On behalf of Poland, Radadiya Satyam scored 1 goal (25.28).
