Shocking! Banerjee sisters found living with dead body of younger one’s husband for 10 days

VARANASI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE– In an amusing incident, two elderly sisters were living with the dead body of their own younger sibling’s husband in their Varanasi based house.

The incident took place in Munshi Ghat area, Varanasi and came to light on Sunday morning, when the police recovered the decomposing body from their house along with some biscuit wrappers strangely.

The name of their sibling’s husband was identified as Tarun Kanti (65) and according to the police had died 10 days ago.

The two elder sisters namely elder one, Sunanda Banerjee(70) and younger one, Suchitra Banerjee(65) lived in a house close to Munshi Ghat. Reportedly Tarun was Suchitra’s husband and died 10 days ago.

As per the neighbors, the sisters did not communicate to them much rather were rarely seen out and were mostly seen feeding monkeys. They also informed that the elder sister, Sunanda was a government school teacher and had retired 10 years ago.

While some neighbors, also smelled of rotting every day but could not trace what was it, as if a body was being decomposed. As decomposition of a body smells a lot.

Station officer of a Varanasi based police station, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Balkrishna Shukla said, “Prima facie it appears that Tarun Kanti died around 10 days ago. The exact time and cause of death will be clear once we receive the post-mortem report”.

The police is still investigating into the case further. They reached the house and recovered the decomposing body. They also found biscuit wrappers near the body.
