Rajnath Singh Arrives in Ladakh Amid Tension With China, Defense Minister to Review Security At LAC

New Delhi : Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Ladakh today on a two-day visit amid tensions between India and China in Galwan. Rajnath Singh reached Leh from a special plane of the army. The Defense Minister’s visit is taking place about fifteen days after the Prime Minister’s visit. Rajnath will spend about 5 hours on LAC. The Defense Minister will go to Lukung of the Line of Actual Control.

According to the information received, the Defense Minister will first review the operational preparations in the LAC. Fire and Fury Core Commander Lt Gen Harinder Singh will brief the Defense Minister on the current situation of India-China.

Rajnath Singh is also accompanied by Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane. All will visit Ladakh on Friday and Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Rajnath Singh was earlier scheduled to leave for Leh in early July but suddenly his visit was canceled and Prime Minister Modi reached Neemu area in Leh district. This is the first Defense Minister’s visit to Ladakh after the May 5 deadlock between the Indian and Chinese forces on the Line of Actual Control.
