Pune is considered the capital city of cultural and has rooted it are a for its traditional and fusion blender. Gearing up on the festive occassion the Dhol Tasha have now become part of its every festive occassion. Now the traditional instruments like Dhol and Tasha are not limited to a city but spread cross countires and has created it’s own benchmark.

Recently in Sweden, a carnival was organised in which Marathi still folk dance and instrument stole the show and win the heart of all the audience.

The Dhol-Tasha of Pune has once again illuminated the name of Indians in abroad by collecting the fame. Carnival held in the city of Landskrona, Sweden, different artists come from all over the world, and who perform their art, how can Puneites stay behind in such a way? Pune’s Dhol Tasha became the center of attraction in this year’s carnival.

Carnival Train and Carnival festival started in the city of Landkrona, Sweden since 1992.

The special feature of this carnival is that artists come from all over the world to participate in this carnival and showcase their art.

There is a huge crowd of tourists and citizens to see this carnival. The carnival train makes the whole city musical. This year, 20 dances were presented in the carnival train.

Some of the major dance shows were presented in Thai Dance, Latin Samba Dance, Indonesia Dance, New York Dance, Bollywood Dance, Fire Flow Oriental Dance. But among these, the biggest heart of the audience was won by the Marathi Dhol-Tasha. It is pride for every Indian and Punities.


A Marathi Mandal has been established in Lund city, by the Marathi man residing in Maharashtra and Pune.

This division is known as Skon Dhol-Tasha Mandal. Marathi Dhol, Tasha, Lezim and Zaanz were traditionally performed in the carnival train.

For the first time in the carnival train, Pune’s Dhol-Tasha performed, which won the heart of everyone there. Everyone was danced to the music of Dhol Tasha. The women involved in the carnival trained ans dressed in Marathi traditional Navari (nine yard) saree, nath and pagdi.

Men dressed in zabba (kurta) and jeans costumes. The children were not too far behind in wearing this type of jeans-zabba-Pagadi. In these children, Ira, Soham, Dhruv, Ariv and Kunal carried out an important task of blowing the india flag.

The programme started with Shankhvadan, women used to make lavish and zanz by presenting the finest artwork and enchanting the audience. The men presented a glimpse of the Maharashtrian culture by giving a resonance of Dhol-Tasha. In this festival, this family was joined by Devalalikar, Pipalkati, Kharade, Joshi, Shinde, Puranik, Chakan, Gundewar and Yogi of Lund city.

With the voice of Dhol-Tasha in Landkrona, there was angered many Marathi pronouncements like Ganapati Bappa Moria, Jai Bhavani-Jai Shivaji, Pundalik Varade Hari Vitthal. European citizens danced quite well in Dhol Tasha and the European citizens of Pune’s Dhol Tasha praised much. Marathi ensemble and culture touched the heart of the European people so that they shot videos of the show and took photos, along with the Marathi troupe as well as a photograph of their own.


To make this program successful, the Schenk Dhol-Tasha Board has worked very hard for the last couple of months. Dhol, Tasha, Lezim and other equipment from Pune, were flown to Europe.

In Sweden, the rules and regulations are strict, if any instrument is to be played on the road, then the permission of the police is to be taken for granted, the Skon Dhol Tasha Mandal also maintains its discipline following all the rules in Sweden for the programme to make it a big hit.
