India has the best domestic cricket setup and India provides the best young cricketing talent in the world. This is proved as India has won the most number of U19 World Cup. Right from Mohmad Kaif and to Prithvi Shaw India has won four world cups. Now as Shaw has got his maiden call for Indian Test cricket team the responsibility of leading Indian U19 cricket team is on the shoulders of a Punekar named Pavan Shah.

Pavan who is born and bought up in Pune has no background of cricket in his family. He started playing cricket from the age of 10. He is also a student of Pune’s Ness Wadia College and perusing Commerce. The captaincy of India U19 came as a surprise to him.

After the astonishing performance in India’s U19 tour to Sri Lanka Pavan Shah has been named as the captain of India U19 team. Pavan is a right-hand batsman who plays as aggressive as Virat Kohli. His brilliant performance in India U19 has earned him captaincy and now heading into Asia Cup he is confident of winning back the title.

In a special interview with NP News Network, Pavan Shah said, “Everything is achievable after continues hard work and determination. I never thought about leading Indian team but now as I have got an opportunity I must make it count.”

When asked about his bond with Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar who plays in the same team with him, He said, “ Arjun is a very close friend of mine. We know each other since childhood and we share a special bond of friendship. He is down to earth and a great cricketer.”

In 2008 Virat Kohli led India into U19 World Cup win, 10 years down the line he became the captain of Indian cricket team. Recently India won the U19 World Cup under the captaincy of Prithvi Shaw and now he has also got a call from Indian cricket team for the last 2 Test Matches in England. When asked about is it easy way through for Captain of U19 WC to get a call from India’s international team, Pavan said, “ Both Virat Kohli and Prithvi Shaw are Classic players they both have played the best cricket to get a call from Indian Cricket team, Now Virat Kohli is the best batsmen in the world and I think keeping yourself up to the mark is important to survive in International Cricket.”

Pavan who is a right-hand batsman is basically an opening batsman but in Indian U19 team, he is playing in the middle order to strengthen the team. Coach W.V. Raman advised him to do so.

“I will try and perform the same way as I did in the Sri Lanka tour. I think I am in good form and I should take full advantage of this. In the upcoming Asia cup, I will try to win it for the country.” Said 18 year old about his preparations for Asia cup.

When asked about If he is preparing for 2019 IPL, he said, “ I will not try to think about it right now. All I need to focus on right now is the Asia Cup. At the back of mind, IPL is there as it is a platform to showcase your skills. If at all I got picked in IPL, I will like to play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).”

When asked, Why CSK? , He said, “ I like to play aggressive cricket but my Idol is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is the best captain in the world.”

Steve Smith has been banned from international cricket but still, he was the number one batsmen in ICC Test Ranking. The fight between the Fab Four i.e. Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Joe Root and Ken Williamson. When asked who is your personal favorite in Fab 4. He chooses Virat Kohli. He said that in International Cricket Virat has scored in every format of the game and thus he is the best.

India is currently in England for the test series, when asked about who is your favorite fast bowler he said choose James Anderson England’s fast bowler over Indian fast bowlers.

The connection between Bollywood and Cricket is pretty clear between people, about a year ago India’s Captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood Star Anushka Sharma, two years back Yuvraj Singh and Hezal Got married. So, when asked about in future if he gets an opportunity to date any Bollywood actress who would it be? He said, “ Right now Disha Patani is my Favourite actress and I would like to date her.”
