Pune: Swindler Duo Apprehended by Chinchwad Police for Black-Marketing of IPL Matches Tickets

Pune: Chinchwad police have successfully detained two fraudsters who were illegally selling tickets of Indian Premier League’s (IPL) matches at an increased price. This action was taken on Wednesday, April 10, at around 2.30 p.m. near the KGN Hotel in the Chafekar Chowk area.

The accused apprehended by Chinchwad police have been identified as Chetan Namdev Patil (25), a resident of Magazine Chowk, Dighi, and Sachin Vinod Kumbhar (21), a resident of Nigdi Pradikashan. Aakash Vijay Salvi (25), a resident of Empire Estate, Chinchwad, has filed a complaint in this regard at Chinchwad Police Station.

According to the information, the plaintiff, Akash Salvi, wanted tickets for an IPL cricket match. For this, he contacted the accused, Chetan Namdev Patil, and Sachin Vinod Kumbhar. Shockingly, both accused charged a higher price to the plaintiff for each IPL ticket.

After realising that the accused were illegally selling tickets for IPL matches, plaintiff Akash Salvi contacted the Chinchwad police and filed a complaint in this regard. Accordingly, Chinchwad police laid a trap and detained both the accused from Chafekar Chowk of Chinchwad.

During the investigation, police discovered that the accused were nefariously purchasing IPL ticket matches in advance and then selling them at higher prices. For the same reason, both accused attempted to swindle the plaintiff to the tune of Rs. 92,200.

Chinchwad police are conducting further investigation to find out whether any organised setup of black marketing operates in the Chinchwad area.
