Pune: Sexual Assault of 19-Year-Old Sparks Outrage in Katraj; Complaint Against Accused at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station

Pune: A disturbing incident of rape involving a 19-year-old adolescent girl took place in the Katraj area. This incident came to light after a victim girl filed a complaint at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station on Friday, April 5.

According to the police, the victim was walking through the vegetable market on Wednesday at around 2 p.m. At that time, she met with a woman who was acquainted with her. After talking to her for some time, the woman took the girl to her home.

After that, the woman went out of her home to bring Vada Pav to the girl to eat. The woman locked the door of the house from outside, leaving the girl alone with her husband. However, taking advantage of the girl’s loneliness in the house, the woman’s husband, Prahlad Sakharam Salunkhe, tried to molest her by making unwelcome advances at her.

Shockingly, when the girl tried to resist her, he forcibly sexually assaulted the victim girl. After that, the victim girl filed a complaint against the woman and her husband at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station on Friday, April 5. The complainant girl alleged that the woman has purposefully corroborated with her husband and has helped the accused by purposefully leaving the girl alone with her husband.

Taking note of the girl’s complaint, Bharati Vidyapeeth Police booked the accused and his wife under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 342, 323, and 34. Sub-Inspector of Police Priyanka Nikam is conducting further investigation into the case.
