Pune: Rampant Burglaries Incident Plague Pune, Leaving Citizens Fearful

Pune: In a spate of recent criminal activities, Pune has witnessed a surge in house burglaries, raising concerns among its residents. The incidents span different areas, with thieves resorting to violence and intimidation.

Senior Citizen Assaulted in Robbery Attempt in Hadapsar

A distressing incident was reported at Hadapsar police station in which a senior citizen was brutally attacked by assailants demanding money. Two individuals on a bike intercepted the elderly victim, who, upon stating he had no money, faced verbal abuse and physical assault. The attackers attempted a forceful robbery, resulting in a fractured leg for the senior citizen. Devidas Keraba Kale, a 57-year-old resident of Nirmal Township, Kalepadal, filed a complaint, triggering an ongoing investigation.

Gold and Cash Stolen in the Daylight Heist in Nana Peth

Another incident unfolded at Nanapeth, Pune, where thieves forcibly entered a locked house, making away with 19.66 grams of gold jewellery and Rs 57,000 in cash. The victim, Wajid Fazal Khan (34 years old), reported the incident at Samarth Police Station. The robbery was discovered around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Lock-Breaking Thieves Swipe Gold and Cash in Kothrud

In Paramhansa Nagar, Kothrud, criminals targeted a closed flat by breaking the lock and pilfered 40 grams of gold jewellery and Rs 2.06 lakh in cash from a cupboard. The homeowner, Raju Ramchandra Rathod (39 years old), reported the theft to Kothrud Police Station. The incident occurred in broad daylight between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Ambegaon Budruk Burglary: Thieves Ransack Residence, Steal Valuables

The wave of burglaries reached Ambegaon Budruk, where thieves broke into flat number 202 of Royal Heritage. The culprits, after breaking the lock, targeted an iron cupboard in the bedroom, making off with gold ornaments and cash amounting to Rs 59,000. Karan Suresh Sagade (24 years old) filed a complaint at Bharti University Police Station regarding the incident, which occurred on January 19 between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

As the crime spree continues, citizens are living in fear, prompting authorities to intensify efforts to address and curb these criminal activities.
