Pune Police Unravels International Drug Racket in Delhi, Seizes Total 1700 kg of MD Worth Rs 3500 Crore

Pune: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch of Pune Police, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, has cracked down on an extensive drug syndicate, culminating in the seizure of a staggering 1700 kilograms of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MD) valued at Rs 3500 crore. This operation, spanning multiple cities, including Vishrantwadi in Pune city, Kurkumbh in Pune rural, and the capital city of Delhi, has led to the arrest of eight individuals thus far, with investigations ongoing.

The latest development unfolded as Pune Police seized 970 kilograms of MD from the heart of the capital city, Delhi, and apprehended three individuals involved in the illicit trade. Subsequent police probes revealed that the contraband was dispatched to London from a courier company based in Delhi, unveiling the international connections of the drug network.

The Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, addressing the media, shed light on the extensive efforts undertaken by the police force, emphasising the involvement of one of the chemical experts in the drug racket. Notably, Pune Police teams have been conducting search operations across 12 to 15 cities nationwide, with simultaneous enforcement actions underway in Sangli.

The concerted efforts of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Govekar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Tambe, and other dedicated officers, under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Pravin Pawar, and Additional Police Commissioner Shailesh Balkawade, have yielded significant results in dismantling the drug syndicate.

The names of those arrested so far in the drug case are as follows.

Vaibhav alias Pintaya Bharat Mane (40, Res. Somwar Peth, Pune), Ajay Amarnath Karosiya (35, Res. Bhavani Peth, Pune), Haider Noor Shaikh (40, Res. Vishrantwadi, Pune), Bhimaji Parashuram Sable (46, Res. .Pune), Yuvraj Babruwan Bhujbal (41, Res. Dombivli West, Mumbai), Divesh Chiranjit Bhutia (Res. New Delhi) and Sandeep Rajpal Kumar (Res. New Delhi) and Sandeep Yadhav (Res. Delhi)

Police have also detained Sandeep Yadav from Delhi. His arrest is underway.
