The Pune police carried out checking of 5,419 criminals in these three combing operations and surrounded 1,727criminals. The instructions given by CP, Joint CP, Addl CPs, DCPs and ACPs to police officers and policemen during the combing operations yielded rich dividends for the police on Tuesday.

Policemen who are on their toes after the combing operations, apprehended two most wanted terrorists in Kothrud. After they were questioned by senior officials, they were arrested. The beginning of the action was made because of the All Out Operation being implemented by CP Ritesh Kumar and Joint CP Sandeep Karnik.

Two most wanted terrorists have been arrested from Kothrud and they were carrying a reward of ₹5 lakh each on their head announced by NIA. They have been absconding since one and a half years. The real heroes in their arrest were policemen Pradeep Chavan, Amol Sharad Nazan and Mangesh Shelke of Kothrud police station.

When the sickle gang is terrorising people in the city and vehicles are being vandalised regularly, a team of policemen from Kothrud police station were patrolling on Tuesday morning and they saw that three youths were stealing a motorcycle at Badhai Chowk at Kothrud.

Policemen Pradeep Chavan and Amol Nazan who were on duty, arrested the three men but one of them escaped. However, Chavan and Nazan held on to the two youths and took them to the police station.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Yunus Saki and Imran Khan. When they were questioned, they started giving evasive answers but later, they revealed their true identity. The two accused are most wanted in Rajasthan.

The Pune police have informed the NIA and other investigative agencies and a further probe is underway. There is a suspicion that the two accused are members of Sufa organisation of ISIS.
In March 2022, the police had apprehended three accused in Chittorgarh in Rajasthan and bomb making material had been seized from them.

The case was handed over to NIA for further investigation and during the probe, the names of Yunus Saki and Imran Khan cropped up. Both of them were wanted accused in the same case and a reward of ₹5 lakh each had been announced on their heads. Since few months, they were staying in the Kondhwa area of Pune.

On the other hand, policemen Chavan and Nazan of Kothrud police station played an important role by apprehending both the accused and they are being praised by senior police officers. However, investigative agencies will have to find out why they had come to Pune and find the whereabouts of the third absconding accused.
