Pune police Crime Branch seizes Mephedrone worth ₹2.21 crore

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Police Crime Branch News | The ANC-1 of Pune police Crime Branch arrested two persons and seized Mephedrone worth ₹2.21 crore. The action was taken in the limits of Chandan Nagar police station on the road going from Kharadi Chowk to Rakshak Nagar and an FIR has been registered against the two persons. The arrested accused have been identified as Azad Sherzaman Khan (35), and Nagesh Rameshwar Prajapati, both residents of Madhya Pradesh. Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr and Joint CP Sandeep Karnik had instructed that a special drive should be undertaken against those involved in selling drugs. Accordingly, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, ACP Sunil Pawar were guiding a team of officials including Sr PI Vinayak Gaikwad, API Laxman Dengle, policemen Manojkumar Salunke, Maruti Pardhi, Pandurang Pawar, Vishal Dalvi, Rahul Joshi, Vishal Shinde, Yogesh Mohite and Sandesh Kakde who were patrolling in Chandan Nagar area.

 

 

Policemen Manojkumar Salunke and Maruti Pardhi got a tip that some people from MP were going to arrive on a road going from Kharadi chowk to Rakshak Nagar to sell drugs. After verifying the information, the police laid a trap in the area under the guidance of senior officials. They found Azad Khan, Nagesh Prajapati and a minor youth,

 

When they were searched, Mephedrone weighing 1.108 kg was found with them and it was seized by the police. An FIR has been registered against the accused at the Chandan Nagar police station. API Laxman Dhengle is probing the case.
