PUNE : Pune Police Crime Branch News | A youth who had come from Gadchiroli to sell Ganja in Pune was arrested by Anti Narcotics Cell Pune of Pune police Crime Branch and Anti Extortion Cell Pune. They have seized 36.360 kg Ganja worth ₹7.27 lakh from him.
The arrested accused has been identified as Pankaj Saliar Madavi (23), a resident of Ambegaon Budruk, Pune and hailing from Gadchiroli. On Sunday (June 18), officials and policemen of ANC 1 and AEC 1 were patrolling in the limits of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. Policeman Vijay Kamble came to know that a youth was selling Ganja in huge quantities.
Against this background, a police team laid a trap on the opposite side of Pune Institute of Aviation Technology. The police found that Pankaj Madavi was selling ganja in huge quantities by keeping it in two bags. The police apprehended him and seized 36.360 kg ganja worth ₹7.27 lakh from him. An FIR has been registered at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station under the NDPS Act. He has been handed over to the Bharati Vidyapeeth police for carrying out a further probe.
CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, ACP Sunil Pawar guided PI Ajay Waghmare, API Shailaja Jankar, PSI Vikas Jadhav, PSI Yashwant Ombase, policemen Vijay Kamble, Ravindra Fulpagare, Duryodhan Gurav, Sujit Wadekar, Pandurang Pawar, Pravin Uttekar and Rajendra Landge in taking the action.
