Pune Crime News | Gang spreads terror in Taljai area of Sahakar Nagar police station; Vandalise 26 vehicles; Police apprehend notorious criminal Papulya Waghmare
PUNE : Pune Crime News | A gang of criminals which had come to an area to search for a man vandalised 26 vehicles which were parked on the roadside by sickles, sticks and throwing stones in Vanshiv Vasti in Taljai Vasahat at 3.30 am.
After this incident, within a couple of hours, the Warje Malwadi police arrested the gang leader Papulya alias Digvijay Waghmare (20), a resident of Ram Nagar, Warje Malwadi.
According to the police, the gang had come to Vanshiv Vasti at 3.30 am to search for an accused in an attempt to murer case but they could not find him. Hence, the gang members vandalisded vehicles parked on the roadside with sickles, iron rods and sticks and threw stones on the vehicles damaging the glass.
The incident has created a terror in the area. The gang members also threw stones on autos, two-wheelers, cars and some houses. The police rushed to the spot after they were informed. The accused have been identified and they are being traced.
Sr PI of Sahakar Nagar police station Savalaram Salgaonkar said that the process of registering an FIR was underway and the damaged vehicles were being counted.
The Warje Malwadi police apprehended the mastermind of the violence Papulya Waghmare. A team consisting of PSI Narendra Mundhe, PSI Rameshwar Parve, Police Naik Pradip Shelar, Amol Raut, Hanmant Masal, Police Constable Bunty More, Shrikant Bhangre and Vicky Khilare apprehended Waghmare.
