Pune Crime News | Body of a 26-year-old woman found at Rajgad fort foothills
Pune : Pune Crime News | The decomposed body of a 26-year-old woman was found at the foothills of the Rajgad fort within the jurisdiction of the Velhe Police Station. The woman was the third ranker in the MPSC exam. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Darshana Datta Pawar, a resident of Kopargaon, district Ahmednagar. An accidental death case has been registered at the Velhe Police Station.
According to details, Darshana was preparing for the MPSC exam for some years. She joined a coaching class too. Later, she went to her home town and continued self-study. She was selected for the forest officer’s post and stood first in the state. A Pune-based academy planned to felicitate her, for which she came to Pune.
She was staying with her friend in Narhe. She told her friend that she was going for a trek to the Sinhagad fort on June 12. She had told about this to her family too. However, she switched off her mobile phone later. Meanwhile, her family members lodged a missing person’s complaint at the Sinhagad road police station on June 15. They were searching for her. However, her body was discovered on Sunday within the jurisdiction of Velhe police station.
The police rushed to the spot. They found a few things, including a mobile phone near her body. They contacted her family members. Her father arrived there, along with another person. He identified her body. The Pune Rural Police and the Pune City Police are investigating the matter.
