Pune: Police Commissioner Takes 91st Action Under MPDA; Apprehend Recidivist Bhimayya Bhandari From Kondhwa

Pune: Pune Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has taken action against the 23-year-old accused, Bhimayya Lingayya Bhandari, a resident of Kanadenagar, Undri, Pune, for selling a country-made illicit liquor and creating terror in Kondhwa Police Station limits. This latest action marks the 91st action of the Police Commissioner against criminals in the city under the MPDA Act.

Bhandari is a notorious criminal and has serious charges registered against him in different police stations in the city. He had often been arrested for illegally stockpiling and selling country-made illicit liquor within Kondhwa police station limits. In the last two years, five serious crimes have been registered against him.

His criminal activities were increasing day by day, and that had disturbed the law and order of the area. Citizens were not openly lodging a complaint against him, fearing potential losses to lives and property.

Taking note of it, the Senior Police Inspector of Kondhwa Police Station, Santosh Sonawane, sent a proposal to take action against Bhandari to the Commissioner of Police. After scrutinising and verifying the proposals and documents received, Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar ordered Bhimaya Bhandari to be lodged in Nagpur Central Jail for one year under the MPDA Act.

This action was undertaken by the team of Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonawane, Pune Crime Branch Senior Police Inspector Chandrakant Bedare, police officers, and enforcers.
