Pune police arrest absconding accused for vandalising vehicles

PUNE: The city police has arrested absconding accused for vandalising vehicles in Dattawadi police station area on Thursday around 11 pm.

The arrested accused has been identified as Abhishek Santosh Yenpure (21), resident of Rajendranagar, PMC Colony, Dattawadi.

According to the police, the accused who had been absconding for a year, was nabbed at Nisarg Hotel in Katraj on the Pune-Satara Road for vandalizing vehicles in the Dattawadi police station premises.

Upon further investigation, he confessed to committing the crime with the help of another accused, Faizan Mulla. Meanwhile, he was living with his wife at Vishrambag, Lakshmi Deul, Potdar High School, Shardanagar street, Sangli.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Ashok Morale, Deputy Commissioner Srinivas Ghadge, Assistant Commissioner Laxman Borate and led by a squad of Senior Police Inspector Sunil Pandharkar, police constables Uday Kalbhor, Rajesh Abhange, Vinayak Ramane, Dinkar Lokhande, Manoj Kharpude, Shivaji Jadhav.
