Pune PMC Pre-Monsoon Works | PMC claims completing 100 per cent pre-monsoon cleaning work; Civic administration issues two numbers for citizens to register complaints

PUNE : Pune PMC Pre-Monsoon Works | The PMC has completed pre-monsoon works and it has completed nala cleaning also, the civic administration claimed. Every year, before monsoon, the civic body does the work of cleaning nalas, gutters, storm water drains, chambers and filling up of potholes.
The civic body has completed cleaning of 95 critical spots in nalas and 100 per cent cleaning of 282 culverts. The civic administration claims that the important 165 km length of the nalas has been cleaned and garbage and filth has been removed. At some places, the nalas have been deepened.

 

Care is being taken to ensure that there is no waterlogging on the roads and garbage and filth has been removed from 48,000 chambers.

 

Stormwater drains spread over 184 km have been cleaned. New chambers have been created at the corner of footpaths to prevent waterlogging and work is on to link them to stormwater drains.

The cleaning work would also continue in monsoon. A Disaster Management Room has been set up at the PMC’s head office. Citizens can register their complaints on 9689930531 and WhatsApp number of 9689935462 24×7.

A junior engineer has been appointed to take note of complaints being made in the night and address them. A Disaster Management Room has been set up at various ward offices. A peon has been employed on the night shift at the room, civic administration said.
