Pune News | Teachers of civic schools told to submit monthly report

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune News | The number of students in civic schools is declining and the quality of education imparted is very poor despite expenditure of ₹500 crore on primary and secondary education. Hence, the civic administration has decided to assess the teaching methods of teachers and their day-to-day work and all teachers will have to submit a monthly report. (Pune News)

The teacher will have to give information about what he taught in a month, novel programmes implemented by him, its benefits to children and changes in students’ academic performance. The PMC operates 287 schools, 97,000 children study in them and 1,500 teachers are teaching in these schools.
It has come to light that many students find it difficult to read and the percentage of dropout is also more. Although it is the teachers’ responsibility to improve the students’ academic performance, they are found wanting.

Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar said, “The Education Department is implementing various programmes to improve the academic standards of the children. Hence, teachers have been told to submit a monthly assessment report.”
