Pune News | Exam will be conducted on 20th August for NASA training program by Swan Foundation

Pune : Pune News |  Space has always fascinated mankind. Sky is not the limit, in literal sense. Science and technology has helped to extend our horizons to space and beyond. Every country has their own on going Space research, studies and experiments. Out of a total of 195 countries, only 72 countries have their own Space agency. India being one of them and leading and creating a mark in the field. Keeping this in mind, we would like to encourage youngsters to take interest in these subjects.

 

NASA-National Aeronautics and Space Agency and their research has fascinated not just Americans but also the rest of the world. One unique initiative is a training academy called US Space and Rocket Centre at Huntsville is supported by NASA. This centre opened in 1970 and the training facility which was started in 1982 was initiated by Dr. Wernher Von Braun, a Rocket scientist. His intention was to spread awareness and devlop interest in space studies and research among children.

 

Swan Foundation and Sedor International bring forth an opportunity for the students of Mahatrashtra to attend this program by appearing for an examination. This exam is a first of it’s kind in India, which will give students who come in merit an opportunity to to live and train like an astronaut. This information was give by Ms.Sudeshna Parmar, Ambassador, US Space and Rocket Centre, Huntsville, Alabam and Director of Swan Foundation.

 

Ms. Sudeshna also added that students will also be selected to go to Singapore where they will visit and attend a workshop at the Singapore Science Centre. This centre was established over 45 years back. It has a plethora of exhibits, shows, demos, theatre and much more.designed to introduce and popularize concepts of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in an interactive and interesting way.

 

Mr. M Tirumal and Ms Ayesha Sayyed, Directors of Sedor International and Swan Foundation along with Mr.Shashikant Kamble, Founder Director of Swan Foundation and Ms. Ashwini Salunkhe, Director of Swan Foundation were also present at the conference.

 

Ms. Ayesha explained that the exam will be conducted for students of Class 6th to 10th. There will a separate exam for each class. The exam is going to be based on science, mathematics, geography, general knowledge and logic. This exam is open for all students from English, Semi english schools as well as corporation and Zilha parishad schools. The exam will be conducted on 20th August 2023 and the

 

Registration process will start on 20th July 2023 and students have to register by 15th August 2023. Students can register their names on http://www.swan-foundation.com/. The result will be declared on 28th August 2023. The selected students will be feliciatated in the month of September 2023. The students will travel for the Space Camp in November 2023.Along with the Space camp at Huntsville the students will also visit New York, Washington and Orlando. This exam will encourage students to prove their mettle beyond the syllabus and also help them identify their interests, she added.

 

Mr.Shashikant Kamble, Founder Director of Swan Foundation said, today parents are ready to go any lenghts to have their children participate in reality shows for performing arts, but we need to create awareness amongst parents and students and such activities will encourage students to take up and generate interest in popular sceince and space education.
