Pune News | Citizens’ protest against PMC takes a violent turn
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune News | The protest by citizens against the civic administration for highlighting their grievances on Wednesday took a violent turn. Some activists of the Congress tried to give a political colour to the protest. However, after the citizens protested against this, there was an argument between the agitators and the activists which led to a fight, according to a preliminary report. (Pune News)
Puneites are continuously facing various problems. They include traffic jams, inadequate parking arrangements, release of waste water in the river bed, poor implementation of garbage-free Pune city plan etc and the citizens had announced that on August 9, a siege will be laid to PMC’s head office. When the protest was underway, some Congress activists came there. The citizens told them that the agitation had been planned by them and it should not be politicised.
