Pune police Crime Branch seizes 162 vehicles worth ₹54 lakh, 17 people arrested

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Police Crime Branch News | The Crime Branch of Pune police has seized 162 two-wheelers worth ₹54.67 lakh. The maximum number of two-wheelers were seized by unit 6, announced Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende, ACP Sunil Pawar, ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar at a press conference. Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr and Joint CP Sandeep Karnik had instructed the Crime Branch to prevent thefts of two-wheelers and bring to light such crimes. Accordingly, officials of Unit 6, Unit 5, Unit 4, Unit 2 and Anti-robbery and vehicle thefts Unit 2 had mounted a special operation.

PSI Suresh Jaybhay of Unit 6 of Crime Branch, policemen Nitin Munde and Sachin Pawar and their colleagues were moving about for last one month in Latur, Dharashiv and Beed by hiding their identity and were carrying out an investigation. Members of Unit 6 came to know that some people were going to come to Govindpur (Kalamb taluka) to sell stolen motorcycles. A team of police officials arrested Sachin Pradip Kadam (32), Dharashiv district, Ajay Rameshrao Shende (32), a resident of Daund taluka, Parmeshwar Bhairavnath Misal (28), a resident of Dharashiv district and Yuvraj Sudarshan Mundhe (23), a resident of Govindpur. When they were questioned, Ajay Shende and Shivaji Garad were providing stolen motorcycles for sale. They were selling two-wheelers which will be useful in rural areas and affordable for them. The police questioned them and seized 100 motorcycles from them. Fifteen FIRs are registered against accused Ajay Shende.

The action was taken under the guidance of Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende of Crime Branch, ACP Sunil Pawar, ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar by Sr PI Rajnish Nirmal, PSI Suresh Jaybhay, PSI Bhairavnath Shelke, policemen Machchindra Walke, Vitthal Khedkar, Nitin Munde, Sachin Pawar, Kanifnath karkile, Balasaheb Sakte, Ramesh Memane, Prateek Lahigude, Pramod Mohite, Hrishikesh Vyavahare, Hrishikesh Tilekar, Hrishikesh Takvane, Nitin Dhadge, Jyoti Kale, Ashfaq Mulani and Suhas Tambekar.

A team of Unit 5 arrested accused Sanket Namdev Bhise (23), a resident of Shewalewadi, Pune, Aditya Balu Mulekar (20), a resident of Malwadi, Hadapsar and Vaibhav Nagnath Binvade (20), a resident of Sayyad Nagar, Hadapsar. Fourteen two-wheelers worth ₹5.40 lakh were seized. Accused Vaibhav Binvade is a notorious criminal and eight FIRs are registered against them. Under the guidance of senior officials, the action was taken by a team consisting of PI Ulhas Kadam, API Krishna Babar, policemen Ramesh sable, Pratap Gaikwad, Daya Shegar, Vinod Shevle, Shashikant Nale, Akbar Shaikh and Amit Kamble.

A team of Unit 4 arrested Rahul Rajendra Pawar (21), a resident of Wagholi and hailing from Solapur district, Gourav alais Pintya Machchindra Kusale (38), a resident of Yerawada, Santosh Ashok Kumar Saxena alias Sameer Shaikh (29),a resident of Yerawada and Prashant alias Pappu Subrao Thosar (36),a resident of Aundh. The police have seized nine two-wheelers worth ₹5.55 lakh. Under the guidance of senior police officials, the action was taken by a team of officials including PI Ganesh Mane, API Vikas Jadhav, PSI Jaideep Patil, policemen Mahendra Pawar, Harish More, Pravin Bhalchim, Sanjay Adhari, Nagesh Kunvar, Vinod Mahajan, Swapnil Kamble, Vaibhav Ranpise and Manoj Sangle.

Anti-robbery and vehicle theft Unit 2 arrested accused Kishor Uttam Shinde (30), a resident of Manjari Budruk, Pune, Shahid Kalim Shaikh (19), a resident of Vadgaon Sheri, Aman Nana Kanghare (19), a resident of Chandan Nagar, Nagnath Ashruba Medhe (29), a resident of Vadgaon Sheri and Omkar Praful Tatia (22), a resident of Katraj and apprehended a minor boy.

The police have seized 21 two-wheelers worth ₹5.67 lakh from them. Under the guidance of senior officials, action was taken by PI Sunil Pandharkar, API Vivek Padvi, PSI Gunga Jagtap, policemen Rajesh Abhange, Ashok Atole, Vinayak Ramane, Dattatray Kharpude, Shivaji Jadhav, Ganesh Lokhande, Sudesh Sapkal, Amol Sartape, Sandip Yele, Rahul Ingle, Vikrant Saswadkar and Vinayak Yevle.

A team of Unit 2 arrested accused Bhagwan Rajaram Munde (32), a resident of Parbhani and seized six two-wheelers from them. The police have also seized 13 other vehicles. A team of Unit 2 seized 19 two-wheelers worth ₹4.65 lakh. Under the guidance of senior officials, action was taken by a team of officials including PI Krantikumar Patil, API Vishal Mohite, policemen Mohsin Shaikh, Uttam Taru, Vinod Chavan, Vijay Pawar, Pramod Kokne, Qadir Shaikh, Pushpendra Chavan and Sameer Patel.

The Crime Branch of Pune police seized 122 vehicles from Pune city, 10 from Pune Rural, six from PCMC area, five from Solapur Rural, two from Solapur city, three from Dharashiv, five from Washim, five from Ahmed Nagar, three from Beed and a two-wheeler from Jalna i.e. totally 162 vehicles and brought to light 162 crimes. There are 68 Hero Honda Splendors, 20 Hero Honda Delux, 12 Hero passion, 14 Honda Activa, 10 Bajaj Pulsar, five Honda CB Shine, five TVS Jupiter, three Royal Enfield Bullet, three Bajaj Discover, two Yamaha motorcycles, three Suzuki mopeds, 3 Dio mopeds, three Hero Metro, two Honda CBZ, two Honda Dream Neo, Honda Hornet, Honda Glamour, Honda Karishma, Honda Grazia, Aventur Drum moped, CD Dawn and Scooty Pep.

The Pune city police Crime Branch had taken similar action in 2008 and seized 110 two-wheelers. The then PI and ACP Sunil Pawar and his team had taken the action in 2008. After that, this is the first time that the Crime Branch has taken action and seized 162 two-wheelers. Unit 6 seized 100 vehicles, Unit 5 seized 14, Unit 4 seized nine, Anti-robbery and vehicle theft Unit 2 seized 21 and Unit 2 seized 19 vehicles.
