NCP Pune unit condemns Bandatatya Karadkar’s remarks by staging ‘Jode Maro’ stir
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune NCP | Anti-addiction crusader and Warkari sect leader Bandatatya Karadkar made offensive statements against Sansad Maha Ratna NCP MP Supriya Sule and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
A ‘Jode Maro’ (thrashing with foot wear) agitation was staged by the NCP Pune unit led by its chief Prashant Jagtap at the Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk. NCP office-bearers and workers hit Karadkar’s image with foot wear.
Speaking during the stir, Prashant Jagtap said, “Maharashtra is known as the land of Sants. It has the glorious tradition of Warkari sect. The sect gives a message of amity and humanity. However, evil elements such as Bandatatya Karadkar have intruded into the sect. It is a planned conspiracy to give the Warkari sect a bad name. People should realise this and remove such elements from the sect.” Jagtap said that the forces behind Bandatatya needed to be exposed.
NCP Pune unit office-bearers and workers were present in a large number. NCP office-bearers lodged a complaint at the Shivajinagar police station against Bandatatya Karadkar. The NCP Pune unit has demanded stringent action in this case. Prashant Jagtap, Ankush Kakade, Rajlaxmi Bhosale, Pradip Deshmukh, Mrinalini Vani, Ashok Khandwe, Adv Rupali Thombare Patil, Mahesh Hande, Kishor Kamble, Ganesh Nalawade, Ajinkya Palkar, Manoj Pachpute, office-bearers and workers were present.
