Pune: Minor Girl Brutally Raped, Threatening to Disseminate Obscene Photos, Accused Detained Under POCSO

Pune: Hadapsar police booked a complaint against one person under the stringent POCSO Act for forcefully sexually assaulting a minor girl. This case was unravelled after a minor girl in this case was found to be pregnant for six weeks. Accordingly, Hadapsar police detained the accused and are conducting further investigations.

A 17-year-old girl and the accused, Yash Somnath Pawar, a resident of Fursungi, are known to each other. The accused once took obscene pictures of him with the accused. The accused was demanding physical pleasure from the girl and otherwise threatening the girl to make those photos viral on social media if she did not comply with his demand.

After that, the accused repeatedly maintained physical relations with the girl by threatening her. Meanwhile, the accused also threatened to kill her family members if she told anyone about this. The frightened girl did not say anything to anybody about this.

Meanwhile, the victim girl went to Mhaswad in Satara village for a holiday at her maternal house. At that time, she started feeling uneasy and was therefore immediately admitted to the hospital for an examination. During the check-up, it was revealed that the girl was 6 weeks pregnant.

After that, her relatives rushed to the Mhaswad police station along with the victim girl and reported the complete ordeal that she suffered. After that, the Mhaswad police registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act. However, as the crime took place in Hadapsar, Mhaswad police transferred the case to the Hadapsar Police Station.

Accordingly, Hadapsar police booked and detained Yash Pawar under IPC 354, 376, 376/2/N, and 506 and the POCSO Act. Further investigation is being conducted by API Nanasaheb Jadhav.
