Pune: Free of cost post-Covid OPD started at jumbo hospital in Shivajinagar

Pune: A free-of-cost post-Covid ‘Out Patient Department’ (OPD) has been started at the jumbo hospital in Shivajinagar. This post-Covid OPD department is meant for patients who have recovered from Covid-19 and are experiencing any health problems related to heart, blood pressure and lungs due to coronavirus infection.

The jumbo COVID hospital in Shivajinagar has treated more than 1200 patients in the last 44 days. More than 78 per cent of patients from these 1200 have recovered well from the disease after getting good treatment at the jumbo hospital. The jumbo hospital facility has provided all advanced treatments under one roof for such Covid-19 patients.

Dr Shreyansh Kapale, Medical Head at the jumbo COVID hospital said, “Accurate diagnosis, proper treatment and effective medication has resulted in a good recovery rate at the jumbo hospital. But recovering from Covid-19 does not mean that the threat is over. Recovered patients have to take care of themselves even after they heal from the coronavirus infection. Patients run a risk of heart ailments for more than a month’s period after their recovery.”

“Some patients have had lung related ailments while some suffered from paralysis and some died as the heart functioning stopped suddenly. Hence recovered patients need to undergo testing and checkups post-recovery and that is why the post-Covid OPD has been started at the jumbo hospital,” said Dr Kapale.

Dr Kapale also noted that the patients under treatment at the jumbo hospital have immense faith in the doctors treating them. Patients have expressed their satisfaction about the medical infrastructure, personalised attention from doctors at the hospital.
