Pune: Exploiting Fake Marriage Promise, the Kondhwa Man Cheated on Girl, Sexually Assault Victim

Pune: The young man from Undri cheated on a 29-year-old girl by falsely promising her marriage and forcibly keeping physical relations with her. After that, the accused young man refused to marry the girl. This incident took place in Undri from December 14th, 2023, until today. In this regard, the victim girl living in Undri filed a complaint against the accused at Kondhwa police station on Thursday, February 8.

In this regard, the police registered a case against the main accused, Aditya Krishnan (28), along with his mother, Rajeshwari Krishnan (54), and father, P. Krishnan (57), under IPC 376/2/N, 420, and 34 under Section 3(2)(5) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Similarly, police took Aditya Krishnan into custody.

The girl complained that the accused, Aditya Krishnan, initially attempted to befriend her. After some time, he proposed to the victim girl and asked her for marriage. Exploiting the victim’s trust, the accused forcefully entered the girl’s house, ensuring no one was present in her house, and kept a forceful sexual relationship with her.

Astonishingly, the accused’s mother, Rajeshwari Krishnan, also supported her son in this deceitful act. As per the police complaint, Rajeshwari repeatedly promised the victim girl that they had decided to make the girl their daughter-in-law. For this, they also asked the girl to take care of the expenses of jewellery and clothes in the marriage to ensure the girl’s trust.

However, in a change of events, the accused suddenly refused the girl for marriage, giving no answer for his change of mind. After that, the girl rushed to the Kondhwa police station on Thursday and filed a complaint against the Krishnan family along with the main accused. Assistant Commissioner of Police of Hadapsar Division, Ashwini Rakh, is conducting further investigation into the case.
