Pune Crime News | Wanawadi police arrest two persons for stealing gold chains; Goods worth ₹1.6 lakh seized
PUNE : Pune Crime News | The Wanawadi police have arrested two person for stealing gold chains of women pedestrians. After their arrest, three crimes registered at the Wanawadi police station have come to light. Goods worth ₹1.62 lakh have been seized from them.
The accused have been identified as Gajanan Dattatraya Borade (30), a resident of Saswad, Mauli alias Dnyaneshwar Bhikaji Chavan (22), a resident of Solapur district. A woman staying at Hadapsar had lodged a complaint in December 2022. The complainant was going to her friend’s house to attend a religious ceremony on the road opposite Adhar Hospital. Two people who were riding a bike snatched her 23 gm gold mangalsutra and escaped.
PSI Santosh Sonawane of Wanawadi police station was probing the case. When he was checking ABC category criminals, he apprehended Gajanan Borade. When he was questioned, he admitted committing three crimes in the jurisdiction of Wanawadi police station with the help of his aide Mauli Chavan. Goods worth ₹1.62 lakh were seized from them.
The action was taken by Senior PI Bhausaheb Patare, PSI Santosh Sonawane, policemen Amol Gaikwad, Vitthal Chormale, Atul Gaikwad, Santosh Naik, Haridas Kadam, Sandip Salve, Vishnu Sutar, Rahul Gosavi, Nilknath Rathod, Rahul Mane, Yatin Bhosle and Sonam Bhagat under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Vikrant Deshmukh and ACP Shahurao Salve.
