Pune court sentenced three persons to six months of hard labour in molestation case

Pune: Three persons were sentenced to six months of hard labour and fined Rs 8,000 each for sexually molesting a girl. The order was passed by Magistrate V. I. Sheikh. The convicts were identified as Vitthal Sadashiv Shinde, Babu Ganpat Ingulkar, Ravindra Laxman Rajne, all residents of Survad in.Velha taluka.

According to the information received, the victim was molested when she had gone to fill water at the hand pump with her cousin sister. She was also harassed on her way to college by the three accused. The girl then lodged a complaint with Velha police station on March 23, 2016.

The accused have been charged under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for molesting and sexually harassing the girl. Out of the fined amount, Rs 5,000 will be given to the victim, the court ordered. A total of seen witnesses testified in connection with the case.
