Pune: Accused Duped Computer Engineer Woman to Rs 40.5 Lakhs by Connecting Through Matrimonial Site

Pune: Contacting a woman through the matrimonial sites, a person identified as Rajesh Sharma duped a computer engineer woman for a whopping sum of 40,50,000 rupees. In this regard, a complaint has been registered against the accused under fraud and the IT Act.

As per the information, the plaintiff woman is a computer engineer and works for an IT company in the Kharadi area. As she was looking for a person for her marriage, she registered herself on one matrimonial site. On that site, she met a person named Rajesh Sharma, who also showed interest in her.

After both people liked each other, they started chatting with each other, and Sharma promised the plaintiff marriage. Sharma also pretended that he lives in a foreign country and that soon he would come to India and plan to start a business. He also sent a fake flight ticket to her to gain her trust.

As a part of his sinister ploy, Sharma told the woman that he landed at Delhi airport by land; however, he was held by the Central Customs Department regarding the matter of foreign currency. The accused asked the plaintiff girl to deposit some money into his account to stop this inquiry and promised to return her money sooner.

Trusting his words, the young woman deposited Rs 40,50,000 in his bank account. Shockingly, after that, the accused switched his mobile phone off. After realising that she had been cheated, the victim girl lodged a complaint against the accused at Mundhwa Police Station. Mundhwa police are conducting further investigations into the case.
