PUNE : Pune ACB Trap News | Increasing incidents of policemen posted at Yerawada police station seeking bribes are being reported. An ACB unit arrested a havaldar red-handed for accepting a bribe of ₹13,000 to register a complaint of a car accident. An FIR has been registered against two other policemen for helping him.

The accused has been identified as Havaldar Rajendra Dixit and he has been arrested. An FIR has been registered against havaldar Jairam Savalkar and havaldar Vinayak Mudholkar.

The complainant has a travel business in Pune. His car was involved in an accident. The three havaldars demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 from the complainant to register a compliant. The complainant approached the ACB. On Monday, the ACB verified the complaint. The havaldar agreed to accept a bribe of ₹13,000. The ACB laid a trap in the Yerawada police station area. The havaldar registered the complainant’s complaint after midnight. havaldar Rajendra Dixit accepted ₹13,000 from the complainant. After a signal from the complainant, the ACB apprehended Dixit.

Pune ACB SP Amol Tambe, Addl SP Dr. Sheetal Janve-Kharade guided PI Bharat Salunkhe, Mukund Ayachit, policeman Bhushan Thakur and Pandurang Mali in taking the action.

Since three havaldars have been caught in ACB trap, it has created a flutter in the police department. The ACB has arrested one of them and an FIR has been registered against them. The common man is suffering because a bribe is being demanded to register a complaint of accident. This incident is a pointer to the happenings at the Yerawada police station.
