ACB Trap News | Woman forest officer, pvt driver booked by ACB for seeking Rs 60,000 bribe

Pune : ACB Trap News | The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against a woman assistant forester and a private driver for demanding a bribe of Rs 60,000.

 

The accused have been identified as Varsharani Rajaram Kharmate (40), assistant forester, Wada sub-division, Wada and Murlidhar Shantaram Bodke (58), private driver, resident of Wada, district Palghar.

 

According to the details, Kharmate and Bodke demanded Rs 60,000 from the complainant to issue a document to permit cutting of trees. The complainant did not want to pay the bribe. Hence, they approached the ACB.

 

The complaint was cross-checked. It was proved that Kharmate and Bodke had demanded the bribe. Hence, both were booked.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of Thane ACB SP Sunil Lokhande, Addl SP Anil Gherdikar. A team comprising DySP Navnath Jagtap, PI Swapan Biswas, police personnel Sanjay Sutar, Nisha Manjrekar, Nitin Pagdhare, Yogesh Dharne, Skaharam Dode and Swati Tarvi took the action.
