Pulitzer Prize-winner Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui assassinated in Afghanistan
Kabul: Renowned Pulitzer Prize-winner Indian photographer Danish Siddiqui was killed in an encounter in Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Thursday night.
Danish Siddiqui was with the Afghan Special Forces and was reporting on their actions against the Taliban there. Meanwhile, Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui was assassinated in Afghanistan. Siddiqui was reportedly killed in a clash with Afghan forces while covering an anti-Taliban operation in Afghanistan. Danish Siddique was the chief photographer at the Delhi bureau of Reuters.
Afghanistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Fareed Mamundzay, confirmed the news on Twitter. “I am deeply saddened by the sad news of the murder of my friend Danish Siddiqui in Kandahar last night. Indian journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Danish was with Afghan security forces when he was attacked by terrorists.”
