Pimpri : NpNews24 Online – Police Recruitment Exam Scam | The Crime Branch Unit 4 of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police busted six rackets in the police recruitment exam scam and arrested 56 people. Five of the accused were nabbed from Aurangabad, Jalna and Beed on August 22. Valuables, including bluetooth ear bugs, mobile phones, spying devices, walkie-talkies, chargers and cash, have been seized from their possession. A case was registered at the Nigdi police station following the exposure of the police recruitment exam scam. (Police Recruitment Exam Scam)
As many as 720 posts of police constable were filled at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate in November 2021. The recruitment process was underway till January 2022. The case was being investigated by the Crime Branch Unit 4. Of the 56 arrested earlier, 26 were candidates taking the exam. The police are searching for 75 more suspects in the scam. Of the 75 suspects, 12 have failed the recruitment test even after being a part of the racket.
On August 22, a Crime Branch team arrested Dnyaneshwar Sukhalal Chandel (29) from Jalna, Kartik alias Valmiki Sadashiv Jarwal (23) from Aurangabad, Arun Vikram Pawar (26) from Beed, Arjun Vishnu Devkate (28) from Beed, Amol Sambhaji Parekar (22) from Beed. The valuables confiscated from them included 76 mobile phones, 66 electronic spying devices, 22 walkie-talkies, 11 walkie-talkie chargers and Rs 11 lakh cash. Moreover, clothes used during the recruitment test to hide these devices, sim cards and documents have also been seized.
More than 20 actions in various cities
The six rings involved in the police recruitment exam scam were busted in Aurangabad, Jalna and Beed districts. Various teams visited over 20 places, some of them in remote areas, and arrested the accused from Beed, Aurangabad, Jalna, Nagpur, Amravati and Ahmednagar.
The joint investigation was conducted by the Crime Branch Unit 4, Cyber Cell, Technical Analysis Department, police officers and personnel of the Special Squad.
