PMPML to induct 440 more CNG buses to its fleet soon

Np News 24 Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) is all set to add more 440 CNG buses to its fleet.  The order for this was recently given to a contractor.
The PMPML is likely to receive the buses in December. Therefore, the PMPML will have a total of 1,000 new buses in its fleet within the next three months.  Keeping the number of passengers in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, the PMPML administration released the tender. Accordingly, after the approval from the Board of Directors (BoD), four contractors have been given the work order two days ago. The contractors will be investing in the buses.
The buses will have conductors from the PMPML, however, the driver will be assigned by the respective contractors. mThe contractors will have the job of maintaining the new buses.  The parking space to park the the buses after they have run on the roads will also be responsibility of the contractors.
The PMPML will provide Rs 61 per km for each bus as rent to the contractors.  The buses will on average run about 200 km daily.  The buses will also travel on the BRTS route in Pune and Primpri Chinchwad.
