PMC to inspect mobile towers and hoardings across city

Npnews24 Online Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken steps to inspect the mobile towers and hoardings on the buildings across the city due to the rise in incidents of building and wall collapse during monsoon.

The construction of mobile towers and hoarding can pose a threat to the structures. PMC will prepare a draft plan as a precautionary measure and a letter will be sent to the building owners and mobile companies if the hoardings or mobile tower poses a threat to the building after inspection.

Iron ore hoardings on old buildings is dangerous as it affects the construction of buildings. In the past few days, there have been incidents of wall and building collapse, specially if the building is quite old.
21 people had died in Kondhwa and Ambegaon wall collapse incidents.

Thereafter, old buildings and boundary walls are being inspected and the owners and landlords have been given notices regarding the removal of hazardous walls and very old structures.

Meanwhile, the PMC has been receiving complaints regarding hoardings and mobile towers on some buildings that are dangerous.

The buildings have collapsed due to construction of hoardings and mobile towers on them. The PMC has said that action will be taken against dangerous mobile towers and hoardings and also very old building across the city.
