Pakistani prisoner walks out of jail with ‘Bhagavad Gita’

A Pakistani prisoner named Jalaluddin walked out of  Varanasi Central Jail after 16 years of imprisonment with a Bhagavad Gita in his hands. Yes, you need to believe it! Those hands which were supposed to hold Kuran actually held Bhagavad Gita in them.

Jalaluddin who hails from Sindh province, Pakistan was arrested from Varanasi Cantonment in 2001 with suspicious documents like some maps of the cantonment area and various other important places.

After finding him guilty, he was nabbed by the police and later sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment.

Varanasi Jail Superintendent said that “He was imprisoned under the Official Secrets Act and Foreigner’s Act. He has been handed over to the local police. He has taken a copy of (Bhagavad) Gita with him.”

The superintendent further added, “When he was arrested, he had only graduated from high school. He completed his intermediate and did his MA from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He also undertook an electrician course as well in the jail. He had been an umpire in the jail cricket leagues for the last three years.”

After being released from jail, he will be taken to Amritsar by a special team and will be handed over to the further concerned authorities at Wagah-Attari Border, after which he will be returned back to Pakistan.

Now Jalaluddin who is free from prison will take this Hindu holy book with him to his home that is Pakistan as an asset with him which is an inspiration to many.
