Pakistan: 14 Killed In Terrorist Attack In Balochistan, Gwadar Oil Company targeted

New Delhi : A convoy of oil and gas workers of paramilitary forces in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan has been the victim of a terrorist attack in which 14 people, including 7 soldiers, were killed. On Thursday, employees of Government Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) were attacked in Oramara town of Gwadar district.

The Pakistan Army’s media wing Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that terrorists have also suffered significant losses in the firing from both sides. At the same time, seven Frontier Corps soldiers and an equal number of private security guards lost their lives in the attack.

A top Gwadar official said, “The militants attacked the convoy from the mountains near Oramara on the Balochistan-Hub-Karachi coastal highway. There was a massive firing from both sides. When the incident happened, the convoy was returning from Gwadar to Karachi.”

The officer said that the attack was well-planned, and the terrorists were already aware that the convoy was going to Karachi. The officer said, “The terrorists were waiting for the convoy. Despite losing their lives, the security forces evacuated the convoy from the spot near Ormara.”

Gwadar Port is the focal point of the nearly 60 billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) development projects. State-owned institutions and foreign officials work here under heavy security. Inter-service public relations stated that the number of invading terrorists was substantial, without giving an exact number.

According to the news agency PTI, the statement said that the security forces effectively responded to the terror attack and ensured the safety of the oil company and evacuated the company’s employees from the area. The terrorists have also suffered a lot during the firing.

According to ISPR, the security forces have seized the entire area and the search for the terrorists involved in the attack is on. However, no banned separatist or terrorist organization or group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Radio Pakistan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the attack and sought a report on the incident.
