Notorious criminal arrested by Lonikand police for possessing pistol
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | A notorious criminal has been arrested by the Lonikand police for illegally possessing a pistol. A country-made pistol and two cartridges were seized from him. The action was taken opposite the labour camp on Bakori Road on Tuesday. (Pune Crime News)
The accused has been identified as Vishal alias Ihappa Jagannath Pandi (21), a resident of Bakori Road, Pune. According to the police, when the officials of Lonikand police station were patrolling in their jurisdiction, policeman Swapnil Jadhav got information that a youth is standing opposite labour camp on Bakori Road and he had a pistol.
The police laid a trap and arrested him. When he was searched, a country made pistol and two cartridges were found. The police seized goods worth ₹34,000. An FIR under the Arms Act has been registered at the Lonikand police station.
The action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Shashikant Borate, ACP Kishore Jadhav, senior PI Gajanan Pawar, PI Maruti Patil by PI Gajanan Jadhav, policemen Swapnil Jadhav, Vinayak Salve, Kailas Salunkhe, Ajit Farande, Sagar Jagtap, Amol Dhone, Ashish Lohar, Malhari Sapure and Sachin Chavan.
