Nine teachers booked for their involvement in mass cheating in Pune district

The teachers were involved in mass cheating during the exam. A case has been registered against nine teachers at Yavat Police Station under Section 8 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractice Act, 1982 (Maharashtra University Board and Specified Examinations) Act. The incident happened at the Jawaharlal Secondary School at Kedgaon in Daund taluka.
On February 27, when the board examination was underway, the flying squad suddenly visited the school and inspected it. Some students were found doing mass cheating. It was also pointed out that the teachers present in the school were indirectly responsible for the mass cheating. Kisan Dattoba Bhujbal, the extension officer of the education department from the flying squad lodged a case at the Yavat Police Station.
On the complaint of Kisan Bhujbal, Yawat Police filed case against Jalindar Narayan Kate (Examination Center Director), Raosaheb Shamrao Bhamre (Sub-Centre Director), Jayashree Gawli, Surekha Hon, Kavita Kashid, Prakash Kuchekar, Abhay Sonanwar, Vikas Divekar, Sham Gorgal.
