Nirbhaya Case : Only Eye-Witness, Nirbhaya’s ‘Anonymous’ Friend Got Married, Has 2-Year-Old Son

New Delhi: Nirbhaya’s friend Avanindra, resident of Gorakhpur played a very important role in bringing justice to Nirbhaya. The only eye-witness not only fulfilled friendship but his testimony proved to be an important link in bringing the accused to death.

A friend fighting to punish Nirbhaya’s culprits himself was so broken that it took his family four years to handle him. Somehow he got out of this shock and then he was married three years ago. Now he is working abroad as an engineer in a private company with a two-year-old son and wife. However, he still has the remorse that the accused are still alive.

According to the information, on the night of 16 December 2012, Nirbhaya was returning home by bus with his friend Avanindra, son of advocate Bhanu Prakash Pandey. During this, the four accused not only made her a victim of their lust but also crossed all the limits of humanity. This incident shook Avanindra from inside. He went into shock. Only he was present as an eyewitness whose testimony helped to get culprits behind the bars.

For a long time, Avanindra lived an anonymous life and is still living the same life. Father Bhanu Prakash Pandey becomes emotional as soon as the incident is mentioned. They say that it is easy for anyone to say and hear but what happened that night, cannot be described in words. Somehow my son has overcome this pain.

Significantly, the hanging of Akshay Thakur, Mukesh Singh, Vinay Sharma and Pawan Gupta has been postponed for the third time. Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Monday stayed the execution of a convict Pawan Gupta due to pending mercy petition put before the President.
